We had the genius idea of getting the train to Camber Sands on a bank holiday Sunday as we thought "yeah I'm sure it won't be that packed"

(it was)

Busy trains, being the cut off point on the bus to the beach which meant we ended up waiting over an hour for the next one, so much traffic that we got off and walked the journey instead...but the sand dunes were lovely and the sky was so blue and the water was cold and just what we needed after hours of sweating under the sun. We spent the day stretched out on huge mats, very gracefully climbing up sand dunes and racing down hand in hand, floating in the sea, lathering on my spf tanning oil (never without it) and "oh my god it feels like we're ABROAD!!!?"

It was a nice summer's day and it was good to put on my bikini once more before retiring it for the start of autumn. I'm looking forward to many more days like this.

How are you spending your bank holiday?
